2017 Minted Holiday Card Contest

Hey, y'all!

I decided to enter the Minted Holiday Photo card design contest again this year! This is my second year to enter. I know most people send photo cards at Christmas nowadays, and this is the easiest way for my designs to appear with photos. I created 12 designs; each design was hand-painted, so they are unique but still very much in my style.

So if you'd like to see these as options for sale on Minted this holiday season, I need your votes! Sign in to Minted to rate each entry (1 through 5, with 5 being the highest). Feel free to "heart" it, too - it's not part of the vote but it ups the hype! ;)  You only need to vote on each entry once.

Holiday 2016

It's that time -- new holiday cards are here! I have 4 new designs this year to add to the holiday collection.

First is the Visions of Sugarplums card
I know the phrase is from the poem "Twas the Night Before Christmas," but anything sugarplum just makes me thinks of The Nutcracker-- dreamy, pink, sugary goodness.

I also created 2 locally-themed cards:

Featuring a gold* shape of Virginia with painted poinsettias and a painted banner with hand lettering (*non-metallic ink)

Featuring a green watercolor shape of the District outlined in holly with a painted banner and hand lettering

And finally... my first New Year's card!

Featuring a watercolor champagne pink background with blank and gold* hand lettering and champagne bubbles! (*non-metallic ink)

More of the holiday collection:

Which is your favorite?

Minted Christmas Card Contest

I took the plunge and designed nine photo Christmas cards for the Minted Photo Holiday card contest this year! (They do their holiday prep early so they are nice and ready for the upcoming season.)

I had a lot of fun designing these; each design was hand-painted, so they have a unique artistic look, ranging from rustic and woodsy to sweet and feminine. It's exciting to be able to do photo cards, since that's what most people send nowadays!

Voting is open now through May 18 (that's just a week!), so sign in and rate my designs if you'd love to see them as card options!

Holiday Market

Moving around the holiday season means unfortunately missing deadlines for shows, but I am so fortunate that a spot opened up and I'll be selling at the Del Ray Artisans Holiday Market this weekend!

Friday from 6pm-9pm, Saturday from 11am - 6pm, and Sunday from 11am - 6pm
Del Ray Artisans, 2704 Mount Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA.

This will be my final show of the year, and it's the last shopping weekend before Christmas, so stop by for some beautifully hand-crafted art and fine wares (paintings, jewelry, pottery, and more!)

I personally will have lots of original paintings (even a couple of large ones!), greeting cards, Christmas cards, prints, and possibly some hand-painted ornaments.

Happy shopping!

Wintery paintings

Since it's currently snowing out, I decided to paint some wintry florals with lots of greens, berries, and some pinecones for good measure.

The tiny ones are so much fun!

"A Bouquet for Mary" (yes, that Mary. She deserves something pretty)

another tiny fellow! I say when in doubt, title it something French. It makes me feel like I'm really putting my 4 years of high school French to good use.  "Une Fleur de Noel"

This one reminds me of the English countryside. I have no idea why - I have never been there! But you get it, right? "Greens and Evergreens"

"A Winter's Table" - at 9"x12" it's the biggest of my winter paintings, but still easy to ship. It doesn't have an outright holiday theme to it, but an overall sense of a snowy outside and indoor warmth. I love citrus for winter!

A couple of these pieces are currently for sale at Eggplant in Charleston, WV, but I wanted to hang some up in my home first to experience the holiday cheer firsthand. It was lovely!

psst, don't forget to stop by the Ridge Fine Arts Show in Ferndale on Saturday!

Ornaments

I painted some new ornaments!

I will be selling these at Yellow Door, Ridge Fine Arts Show, and Etsy.
