My Chromatic Studio

I recently completed a project on my Instagram entitled "My Chromatic Studio"

My studio is a bit of a blank box with white walls and a natural wood floor, but I always receive comments on how bright and colorful it is due to all my art and supplies.

So I decided to showcase some of my supplies, grouped by color, within one of my butcher paint trays (to help contain the size).
I ended up with 28 unique, colorful groupings under the hashtag #mychromaticstudio

Here they are!

Color love

I love color!
I am so inspired by intense, beautiful pigments and paints.
I wanted to share some of my recent colorful photography from the studio. (I am definitely not a professional photographer, and these were all shot on my phone... just a little disclaimer)

(to see even more, follow me on Instagram!)

Obviously my white balance is not perfect, but these colors and images just make me so happy. I hope they bring a little sunshine to your day, too.

I also just started a colorful art supply series on instagram. #mychromaticstudio

Q: What do you do when you overmix a color from another painting and you don't want to waste it?

A: Paint four more paintings!

New Prints

I painted a couple of super fun and bright new prints recently. The combination of white writing on a brightly colored background is so fun, I pretty much want to create every new print in this combo! Reading and creating are probably 2 of my most favorite activities (besides drinking fancy coffees and scratching my kitties behind the ears, but it's hard to make a hobby out of that).

These two watercolor-based pieces are super cheery and would look amazing in a gallery wall. I created a first version of the Read piece a year or so ago, but as my hand-lettering skills have merged into more of a specific style, I wanted to update the piece and make it into a print-friendly version.

Recently I've been reading mostly blogs, but I have my eye on The Artisan Soul by  Erwin Raphael McManus and am hoping to dive into it once the holidays are over.
