I'm starting a new series on the blog called Art Tips. All artists (and art hobbyists!) have their own little tricks they've learned over the years. I thought I'd share some of mine!
This is my watercolor palette.
In grad school, I was taught a trick to put my tube watercolors in a
divided holder like this, let them dry out fully, and then reactivate them with
water (as you would cake watercolors) when I'm ready to paint. It helps prevent paint waste, and
you can still lift however much color you need and mix on a separate mixing palette. On the lid, I have labeled each color in Sharpie so I know exactly which colors I'm getting low on.
Does anyone else do this with
their watercolors?
